On Friday, episode 5 of series 4 of ITV´s award winning comedy Benidorm was shown. I had teased a little about it before, but I have to say that I am actually incredibly proud to have actually played a very small part in this episode.

Filming Benidorm series 4

I am not normally a very big TV person, I can either watch it or not, generally speaking, but there are a few shows that I love and would never miss for the world. Things like the American drama Desperate Housewives, created by the superb Marc Cherry. Shameless, created by one of my favourite TV writers Paul Abbot, and Benidorm, written and created by the only person that I would call anything like a god, the unbelievably talented Derren Litten.

Of the three shows listed, I have never missed a single episode, and I hope I never would. But, to have now been part of one of them is so surreal, it really is like a dream.

I am not going to go on about the details here, but I will say that it was one of the best times ever. I love radio and presenting my shows and it is through that that this opportunity arose. The same could be said of Twitter of course. If not for the microblogging site, none of it would have ever happened, and that also includes every single person I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with, and (in some cases) meeting with, through that website.

That said, and I equally refuse to dwell on it, but I have also come across some real oddballs on Twitter, but then that is life. Through Twitter and Facebook, a lot of people have shown their true colours and, sadly, I really have no time for the negative ones who only want to bring others down. Life is too short. But, they are now binned as far as I am concerned. I am focussing on those who are positive and nice and will use that train of thought to improve the quality of my life.

So, genuinely, I must thank everyone who did take the trouble to say something nice. There are really far too many of you to name, but I did try to reply to you all. I am sorry if I missed you. I owe you a huge debt, as I do to everyone involved in Benidorm full time, and I will cherish every kind word you have said.

If you are not aware yet, then I am the naked butt on the left who takes down his shorts on the beach, also wearing blue sunglasses, and the scene was written with me in mind… Oddly!

I thank you, all of you. Those who claim to be close have proved my suspicions, one way or another, and I must also thank Derek, naked butt on the right, for everything he has done.

By the way, I am still proud of what I have done and will never try to bring anybody down, which is why I am not mentioning those I thought may have commented but didn´t. It´s your choice to support me or not.

The trailer is below, have a look if you dare, then buy the DVD when it comes out later in the year. If you want to know more, feel free to ask, and you can read all about our experiences on Derek´s blog here.

Thank you :)
