On Saturday 3rd December, I am honoured that I will be chatting to Dillie Keane. She is the undisputed Queen of Cabaret with 27 year’s under her belt and after much canvassing, blood, sweat and tears, Dillie Keane has been triumphant in helping to get ‘Cabaret’ classified as an entirely new genre in its own right at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Fascinating Aida are about to embark on a tour with their brand new show ‘Cheap Flights’, now a global internet sensation with over 6 million hits on You Tube and after 27 years in the business they are going stronger than ever. Dillie Keane is the founder member and principle song-writer, with Adele Anderson.

Dillie’s burgeoning acting career was hijacked after her three year acting course at LAMDA by the extraordinary success of Fascinating Aida, which she started in a wine bar back in 1983. Fascinating Aida has played 5 West End seasons, toured extensively around the UK and Australia, performed in New York, Singapore, Berlin and Kenya.

They have released 5 albums, published 2 books, 2 videos and been nominated for the Perrier Award and three times nominated for Best Entertainment in the Olivier Awards and three times nominated for the prestigious Drama Desk Awards in New York.

She has been a columnist for The Stage and The Mail on Sunday.

Her one woman show ‘Back with You’ has toured both the UK and Germany and won the Best Comedy Award at the Moers Comedy Festival in 2001. Her two previous one woman shows ‘Single Again’ and ‘Citizen Keane’ were both sell outs and the former won her a nomination for the Perrier Awards.

She appears frequently on television including BBC 2 ‘Grumpy Old Women’ which she has also toured throughout the UK and Australia, along with numerous other television credits.

Radio credits include 9 years of writing the songs for ‘Stop The Week’, 5 years of writing regularly for ‘4th Column’, co-writer and presenter of ‘Call Me When You Are In Something’ and many appearances on the Sony Award nominated show ‘Booked’ Dillie has also had huge success in theatre including ‘The Vagina Monologues’, ‘My Brilliant Divorce’, ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’ and ‘A Slice of Life’ and most recently in the Noel Coward review show Cowardly Custard.

So, if you have a question, ask me NOW and I will try to ask Dillie on your behalf. Please though, get your question in before Sunday night, so I can get them all together before our chat.

Then, join me on Saturday morning for a chat with a real comedy hero, a talented writer and a superb talent that has entertained so many with a traditional cabaret, music hall act for the modern world.
