Well, it looks like Santa made it home, safe and sound, after his one night of work a year. I have been looking back at various themes for 2011, so I though Santa´s year ought to fall into that too.
Now, you might argue that Santa works all year round too, but not really., He has an army of helpers to do the real jobs, assuming they don´t go on strike or anything. So, all I am looking at is what happened over the 24 hour period that wee call Christmas day and that he calls “work”…

We know that NORAD tracked Santa on his journey, which was helpful for a change, but we didn´t see that Santa also had to go a little bit further than normal, what with some people being out in Space…

One of the biggest problems Santa faces is alcohol of course. Every house he stops at offers mince pies and a “festive” tipple, so it´s no wonder he gets a little out of control from time to time. Like here, getting far too involved in a sports game…

And again here, when he clearly shouldn´t have been driving at all…

However, long before that, we even saw Santa rescue somebody from a burning car, now that is heroic and, timely, given that he only had the one day to complete his deliveries…

Warnings were starting to appear now, perhaps it´s a Health and Safety thing, but either way, everybody had to be warned of what might happen…

But none of the signs warned us that Santa may get involved, or maybe even started, troubles in South America…

Of course, all of this may seem a little dramatic, but don´t forget we are squeezing what most of us might do in a whole year into just one day, so things are bound to look a little pushed.

Had Santa not stopped off to help the burning man, or had he not crashed a car or got caught up in troubles, then things may have been different. He may have had more time to spend on those unfortunate ones who found themselves deprived by Christmas…

All things considered, Santa did a great job again. I hope you got what you asked for and much more besides. Christmas is about love, peace, giving and sharing and if you can´t see that, then Christmas is bound to be… Rubbish…

Until next year… Merry Christmas. x
