CIRCULAR SAW ATTACKER SENT TO PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL

A judge in Alicante has ordered the detention in a psychiatric ward of a 35 year old man who tried to attack his parents with a circular saw in the family home about 2 weeks ago.

The prosecution has seen evidence that the man is unfit to stand trial because of mental health issues, having been examined by medical experts.

Therefore, during the trial in criminal court No. 2 of Alicante, the prosecutor dropped the charges for alleged threats and only retained the charge of resisting arrest.

On the basis of the evidence presented and the findings of the case, the judge has enforced treatment in a psychiatric facility, with subsequent monitoring on an outpatient basis.
