CRACKING DOWN ON DRUG DEALERS

The National Police have arrested five British drug smugglers, all aged between the age of 39 and 62 and operating from the Alicante region, who would smuggle drugs from Spain to the UK in false bottoms and other concealment devices fitted to their for vehicles, arresting five of its alleged members and intervene more than three kilos of the drug.
All of those arrested have appeared in court in Orihuela and were sent to prison. Officers seized about 3.1 kilos of high purity cocaine hidden in the tanks of a truck and several cars and, during the search of six properties, they found a fake gun, seized four computers, three mobile phones, two cameras, two GPS devices, a precision scale, about 1,200 euro and 1,200 pound sterling and numerous tools and instruments for the manipulation drugs.
The detainees are the alleged ringleader of the group, the driver of the truck where they found the 3.1 kilos of cocaine, and two individuals who allegedly were carrying out preparation work before carrying the drugs to the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil have arrested ten people in Torrevieja, including three minors, as part of another drug ring that would provide narcotics to clients from a leisure zone in the city.
In this case, those arrested were eight men and two women, nine of whom were of Spanish nationality and one Lithuanian. The three children were thought to act as runners and messengers for the gang, mostly comprised of adults aged between 19 and 28 years.
Two vehicles were seized, over 700 euro in notes and several bags containing around 325 doses of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, speed, tranquilizers and hallucinogens.
